Dog Ear Editions was started in 2019 with the aim of creating a more collaborative printing experience with a focus on face-to-face interactions. Lauren saw an opportunity to offer a more personal approach to the creative process that requires a level of trust between artist and printer.
Since starting out, Dog Ear Editions has collaborated with various artists, designers, illustrators and photographers, both local and international. Operating from various locations in and around the Cape Town CBD over the years, the studio found its home in Roeland Square in 2024.
In November 2024, Dog Ear Editions launched its online Print Store, offering a curated selection of local artists’ work, available in various sizes to the local and international audiences.
“Creating can become so lost and undervalued in the digital age. Printing and connecting tangibly with your work is a vital part of the creative process and an act of self-expression.
While images are quickly flicked through on social media, a tangible print offers an opportunity to connect on a much deeper level."
